Mercury retrograde gets a bad rap for causing miscommunication, issues with technology, travel, and other annoying inconveniences. But believe it or not, you don’t have to be afraid of it, and with the right #NamasteAsFuck mindset, you can actually use it to your advantage.

Mercury is going into retrograde - AGAIN!

But before you do anything crazy, hear us out!

Let us break it down for you: Mercury retrograde gets a bad rap. And while it IS true that typically you’ll notice issues with travel, technology & communication during this time (plus, exes sliding thru your DMs), Mercury Retro is like taking out the trash. We are confronted with conversations we’ve been avoiding, disillusionment & a time to reflect & recenter. Sort of like the universe forcing us to confront the emotional baggage we’ve been avoiding.

 So, we’re 100% not above rolling our eyes & letting out a big UGHHHH when we hear one is on the horizon, but the truth is, you don’t have to be afraid of it! And with the right NAF mindset, you prepare yourself & you can actually use it to your advantage.

 Here are a few #NAF tips and tricks to prep:

  • SLOW THE FUCK DOWN - There’s no avoiding it. Your phone, email or computer will probably have issues during this time. You’ll post the wrong zoom recording links, accidentally hit reply all & your computer might glitch out at the most inconvenient time (has anyone else noticed that Instagram always crashes during retro to?). Having this understanding going into it will hopefully make it a little less intense (plus, it’s fun to blame everything on mercury!).

  • Try not to take everything so damn personally - EVERYONE is going to be having issues with communication right now. Be sure to double check your spelling & double check you mean what you're saying. Take a deep breath or ten before you send that reply back. Do your best to give people the benefit of the doubt and try not to jump to conclusions about people fucking you over or ganging up on you.

  • Triple check your itinerary - Mercury is infamous for issues with travel. If you’re going on a trip or just driving to work, be prepared for a few mixups, delays and missed connections. Leave early!

  • DON’T FORCE IT - Don’t let anyone pressure you into something you don’t want to do or force yourself into making a decision. Also don’t force yourself to go to that yoga class if you really don’t feel like it. TAKE YOUR TIME and don’t be afraid to double check what your body or intuition is trying to tell you.

  • No new projects! Now is NOT the time to start something new. Instead of starting a new project or jumping in to a new relationship now is a time to (slow down and) reflect on how far you have come. There are plenty of things you can be proud of and take time to congratulate yourself for! Accomplishments at work (even if it’s just surviving your week), ditching toxic relationships or friendships, honoring your feelings and saying YES or NO when you wanted to or needed to.

  • And on that note, also be weary of any old flames or exs sliding through your DMs (they love to creep during retrogrades!) 

  • REMEMBER WHO THE FUCK YOU ARE You are Namaste As Fuck. You have been through way worse and you have so many “this is the best day ever’s” that haven’t happened  yet. You are powerful AF. As shitty as things may feel for a few weeks, it is TEMPORARY and things will lighten up soon, we promise! 

    So throw on that NAF gear, give yourself a pep talk in the mirror and do what you have to do to take care of yourself!
